Carol Jin, OAA, M.Arch

Born and raised in Beijing, Carol came to Canada for her studies and completed a Bachelor then a Master of Architecture at Dalhousie University in Halifax in 1994. She has been a licensed architect in Ontario since 2001.

​

With nearly 30 years of professional experience, Carol has worked across Vancouver, Hong Kong, San Francisco, and St. John before settling in Toronto. She spent almost a decade at Burka Varacalli Architects, leading major projects such as the Hunt Club Townhouse and Condominium Complex, the Renaissance Luxury Condominium, and the Eagle Nest Golf Clubhouse and Facilities. She also served as the lead architect for the award-winning 20-plus high-rise residential towers in Beijing for Chinese Overseas Holdings.

Carol founded JIN Architect in 2008, focusing on high-end custom homes, cottages, and later cultural and commercial projects. Notable works include an East-meets-West Buddhist temple, Goodwood Golf Club design concepts, and The Gates of Eden Monument in Downtown Markham. Her firm collaborates closely with interior and landscape teams to deliver fully integrated designs.

Known for blending Eastern design philosophy with Western construction methods, Carol is valued for her problem-solving skills, development expertise, and strong communication with municipalities and stakeholders. She believes exceptional projects come from exceptional teamwork. She is fluent in Mandarin and English.
